YUP. It happened.

So, you're probably reading this for one of the following reasons:

1. Your my Mom. (Hi, Mom.)

2. I fell victim to some shameless insta-stalking/internet judging

3. You have some sort of interest in eating/living happy & healthy

4. or you just like aesthetically pleasing insta feeds filled with acai bowls and colorful food

Whatever the reason, WELCOME!!! The purpose of this blog isn't to impress you with fancy recipes or a perfect fitness/diet routine, that's not my thing. This past year I've been learning a LOT about building a healthy lifestyle that works for ME. For so long I would compare myself to other girls and be so critical of how I looked, what I ate, etc. It was toxic and exhausting. I got so fed up with how I was treating myself so I decided to turn off the negative narrative in my head and focus on what makes me feel happy. I went on a massive unfollow spree, took a 3-week social media hiatus, and did a lil juice cleanse to kick-start my process. After that, I took a good look at my life and realized I needed to reprioritize in a big way. I wasn't happy, and not being happy is honestly such a waste of time. My anxiety was at an all time high, I was depressed and not acting myself for months, which turned into years. Mental health is a really important topic I want to talk more about in another post, but I think it's important to note how it correlates to physical health. It wasn't until I really got a handle on my mental health that I started to notice physical changes, and it alllll clicked for me.

We're all different - different body types, digestive patterns, food sensitivities, cravings, guilty pleasures, the list goes on. So comparing yourself to anybody else is just a massive waste of time. The only way to figure out what to do to reach your goals is to just start trying. Health/wellness journeys are really just a bunch of trial and error. So this blog is where I'm going to try to track that journey. From foods I love to workouts I hate, I want to put it all out there and hopefully encourage somebody to do the same. But most importantly, I want to encourage others (and remind myself) to not be too hard on yourself. Drink the beer, eat the tacos, stay in bed... within reason. ;)
